Brand Exploration

Brand studies were inspired in us through early discussions with Mountain Hardwear. We let the wheels spin on Mountain Hardwear’s brand as a creative exercise and as an introduction to their team. We found our core business values aligned on the rewards of how exploring the outdoors leads to care for the environment.

Leveraging the legacy of Mountain Hardwear's brand we explored a simplification of the brand elements by utilizing a logotype and hexagonal iconography to arrive at an evolution in the brand expression.
Brand Migration
An exercise in re-interpretation or extension of Mountain Hardwear's brand elements opened the door to a brand expression without borders. An initial iconic study was built on an MHW acronym combined to represent twin mountain peaks joined at the center.
Brand Extension
Targeting those that strive to live "in the moment" we sought to capture a glimpse of outdoor experiences.
