Owned by the same family as Dean & DeLuca, Oakville Grocery was founded in 1881 and has since become a modern day mercantile carrying strictly local artisanal products. The packaging design reflects the times when pure typography indicated the contents and at the same time allows the richness of the product itself to be the hero.
The product line design was selected based on the same simple principles of early mercantile stores. Typographic packages reflected the period while putting emphasis on the actual product colors and textures.
