Branding + Everything under the sun
Privileged to work with Steve Jobs as Apple’s creative team, we consulted with Apple for a decade enabling creatives and visionaries.
Where shall we begin? Brand Identity and experience, Advertising, Macworld exhibit coordination, Retail graphics, Visual merchandising, Macs in schools video direction, Print promotion, Package design experience, Product graphics and whatever came down the pike.
Product Promotion
The Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh Limited Edition promotion broke from Apple conventions to set its site on the next twenty years. The design was the premier of todays Apple san serif font breaking from Apple's Garamond serif font that had been in use since the companies inception, as well as the move from Apple's rainbow icon to a simpler solid black and white icon as the primary brand expression.
Package Design
Our design received awards from ID Magazine and Graphis. Gobé summed up the merits of packaging created for the 2oth Anniversary Macintosh computer, "This box communicates a great integrity, and through its simplicity, a sense of upscaleness. It's underpromoted, over-emotionalized, said with elegance, and I think the abstraction of the design reinforces the confidence Apple has in the quality of this very contemporary and modern product." Not bad for a cardboard box.
Awards
A square format brochure, to mirror the carton form, was printed in four languages on recycled opaque stock revealing proceeding and following pages as leafing through.
Working with Jony Ive we created product shell graphics; Laptop pulsing light effects to create an "alive sensation"; Desktop screensaver patterns and product text identifiers.
