Wetgear’s skimboard product design came to life from a passion for hydroplaning on less than a centimeter of water – and for all the reasons the surf culture has such a strong following. The product design responds to wave actions by borrowing from liquid properties. The brand identity followed suit and evolved into “Wet”. The graphic design echoes early surf and native culture iconography, when waves were the amusement parks of mankind.

After nearly a decade of life in NYC, Sevenfold immersed itself in Northern California, with the ocean as a backyard. Wetgear was our way of making a splash and telling the story of an amazing culture and practice.

Not long after product development Wetgear apparel design became a logical extension of the brand, besides, it's been a lot of fun. Trips to Baja California have been an ongoing inspiration, capturing the south of the border surf culture.
